The 46th General Assembly of ALIDE, held between May 18 and 21 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, elected the new members of the Governing Council of this international association. In this context, Jessica López Saffie, was appointed member, a post she will hold until 2018.
The mission of the Council is to conduct and guide the activities of ALIDE, which hasis conformed by a chairman, two vice chairmen and four directors, elected by the General Assembly, which is in charge of establishing the policies, regulations and activities of the Association.
The new executives that have joined the ALIDE governing body are; Abraham Zamora Torres, director general of Banco Nacional de Obras y Servicios Públicos (Mexico), Jessica López Saffie, executive general manager of BancoEstado de Chile, Pablo García, Chairman of Banco de Inversión y Comercio Exterior (BICE), Argentina, and Edgardo Alvarez, who was appointed General Secretary for the period 2016-2021.
ALIDE is a non-profit-making international organisation that represents the development Banks of Latin America and the Caribbean. It has its headquarters in Lima (Peru), and has as its main objective to contribute to the economic and social development of the region through the good financial practices it encourages among its members, such as the financing of inclusive, responsible and sustainable projects.
It currently has more than 80 countries that are active members in Latin America, the Caribbean and in countries that are outside the region like Germany, Canada, China, Spain Portugal, Sweden and Russia. Its quality management system has ISO 9001-2008 certification.
